Solo safety hiking tips:

• Send a detailed message about your plan to your friend and tell them when you will follow up.
• Pack the 10 hiking essentials
• Pack weapon of your choice(bear spray)
• Be aware of your surroundings (one ear bud in)
• Trust your gut, if there’s a weird person in the parking lot, skip the hike.
• Bring an SOS device
• Be noisy and loud; crunch the leaves or sing to your self if it’s too quiet haha. This is so animals move away from the trail as you hike. 🐈🐻
Camping season on a budget ✨👏 Basic Packing Camping season on a budget ✨👏

Basic Packing List/must have

• lighting (flash light or headlamp work)
• chairs (any camp chair)
• camp stove + fuel (Coleman is a grand brand)
• layers for when it gets chilly at night
• tons of blankets + pillows (sleep on some)
• food that doesn’t need a cooler is easiest (ramen/mac and cheese)
• cooler (if needed) I use @rticoutdoors but any will be good enough for your first summer!
• organization bins (any storage plastic ones are good bc they can be left outside and not get ruined)
• wet wipes + hand sanitizer
• a large jug of water (I like 5 gallons)
• table (some places have picnic tables tho)
• garbage bag
• kitchen needs

And of course your personal preferences like sunscreen, bug spray and beach towel! But that’s all! Truly!

Most of it can be thrifted or found on fb marketplace!

Camping isn’t an expensive hobby! It’s only expensive when you only shop for brand new items and don’t consider what you already have at home 😊🧡🥾⛺️
